There are rumours flying around everywhere at this time of year, but none more so today than the one of Jose Callejon to Liverpool. According to a reliable Marca Newspaper source, Brendan Rodger’s side have bid in excess of €19m.
Callejon is a fan favourite at Real Madrid although not thought of as a first choice in many peoples eyes. Last year he rejoined Real Madrid for a reported £4m from Espanyol. He went on to score 5 goals in 25 appearances that season.
If the rumour is true, then Brendan Rodgers is acting fast as to get the cream of the crop, but the price tag does seem excessive. At this stage it is just that though, a rumour, and nothing is confirmed. Hopefully Liverpool, and especially FSG, have learnt that paying big money is not always worthwhile.
